TIPS FOR TEACHERS AND LIBRARIANS:

One on a Web / One Tiger Growls

  • For younger students or students in speech therapy, the single sentence in larger print can be read aloud.
  • Create a classroom counting book by having each student pick a new animal, write text and draw a picture. Laminate and bind the pages.
  • Laminate the pages created by each student and use them as placemats for classroom activities.
  • Use during Earth Week to illustrate animal behavior, homes, and sounds.
  • Create math problems with each books. Have students count eyes, noses, tails, legs, etc. Use simple addition or subtraction, or involve multiplication.
  • Using the Internet, have students learn more about an individual animal and then do an expanded report with illustrations.
